Difficult to understand technology mixed with massively constrained marketing budgets are the reasons that PRIME|PR sprang into existence.

As a senior vice-president at a large, multinational firm, Nicolia Wiles quickly saw that a large section of the tech market was underserved by traditional firms. With heavy overhead costs, inefficient billability structures and outdated management practices, traditional firms are often forced to ignore budgets less than $15,000 a month. PRIME|PR was created to do one thing – to serve this market better than anyone else.

We simply believe that every company deserves to have their story told. And heard by the right people.

Our Team

Nicolia L. Wiles – Principal

Nicolia Wiles Prime PRNicolia Wiles is founder and principal of PRIME|PR and has more than sixteen years PR experience in the CleanTech, telecom, unified communications, VSAT, network management, managed service provider and semiconductor markets.

Prior to founding PRIME|PR , Nicolia was a senior vice-president at Blanc and Otus and the US Lead of the Ketchum Global Tech Practice.  Before moving to PR, he was also a telecom analyst and the founder and chair of Austin’s NxGen Communication Forum.

 

 

 

Jennifer Gooding – Principal

Jennifer Gooding is co-principal of PRIME|PR. With over a dozen years in public relations and business development, she has achieved tens of millions of ROI for nonprofits and companies ranging in size from startups to those on the Fortune 100 list – obtaining full-page profile pieces and other extensive media coverage in sought-after outlets including BBC, CNN, The Economist, Entrepreneur, INC., Fast Co., Financial Times of London, Forbes, Fortune, Smart Money, TechCrunch, TIME, The Wall Street Journal, and 60 Minutes.

Aside from representing some of the most innovative technology companies in the world, she has also run three of the top ten most successful crowdfunding campaigns in Texas’ history.  She continues to speak nationally at major conferences on how to run effective crowdfunding campaigns.

 

Before bringing her skills to PRIME|PR, Jennifer was director of media and marketing for the Austin Chamber of Commerce where she led media outreach and connected business leaders of top companies, VCs, and public officials.

 

She is a second-year board chair with TeXchange and the Austin Interactive Marketing Association, and dedicates many additional hours each month to promoting various charities, including Funding the Future, Allies Against Slavery, and the Austin Humane Society – from which all three of her previous pets were rescued. She is a huge animal welfare advocate – spending four years of her twenties working for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and another two obtaining a degree PR, paired with a credential in Nonprofit Management.

Jennifer Gooding was a finalist for the 2014 and 2015 Austin Under 40 Awards as one of the most influential public relations professionals in Austin.

 

Patrick Wallace – Vice President

Patrick brings more than 17 years of experience in developing and executing tailored communications programs to PRIME|PR. His expertise has helped enhance the images of a diverse group of companies including Roche Diagnostics, Microsoft, Hearst Magazines Digital Media, The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Physician Retraining & Reentry and many more.

Patrick has a proven track record of developing, managing and implementing strategic PR programs that have yielded exceptional media coverage in top-tier news outlets including the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He has also secured an impressive number of broadcast interviews for several of his clients on all major broadcast networks, as well as preeminent talk shows – “The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”  

Prior to joining PRIME|PR, Patrick served as a PR consultant for seven years. He also worked at Edelman, one of the world’s largest PR firms, where he served on the Corporate Communications team for Microsoft’s Entertainment & Devices Division and assisted with the PR launch of Microsoft’s Windows Vista, which earned him agency honors. 

Patrick has a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Oregon.

 

Ben Skerker- Director of Content Development

Now residing in Los Angeles, Ben was raised in England giving him two passports, a large vocabulary and an accent that allows him to convince people he’s right even when obviously wrong.

The first part of his journalism career was spent as a Senior Producer for E! Entertainment Television, earning three Emmy nominations. He went on to work with CNN, ET, NBC, Canal +, RTL Ireland, ZDF Germany, BBC America, American Public Radio and was the West Coast bureau chief for Associated Press TV.

Ben has produced long and short form programming for TNN/Spike, American Express, Sony Playstation, and Vulcan Programming.  Camera and pen in hand,  he’s been embedded with the U.S. Army in several countries and found stories in places as varied as Havana and Southern Ethiopia.

He has years of PR experience working with companies in computer software, gaming, hardware, environmental causes, and has been (un)known to ghostwrite for CEOs, senior national politicians and national lobby groups. Included in this list, Ben has experience as a Speech Writer for the Senior Administration at the FAA. Ben loves to write anything and everything except bloody bios, especially his own.

 

Jillian Pedersen – Web and Graphics Specialist, Austin

Jillian PedersenJillian Pedersen is a graphic designer specializing in print, illustration and web design. Throughout her years working for top PR firms and various associations, she has received praise for her ability to convey multiple messages of the client’s brand in one seamless design — usually from the very first draft.

Her ability to expedite the design process for companies, and her top-notch client-relations skills is why Prime PR recruited her. She has created logos, collateral and full websites for companies ranging in size from startups to Samsung, Dell and AMD.

Jillian earned a degree in Computer Graphics Design from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and walked the stage with two minors: one in Art, one in Film. She enjoys her free time with her husband Jonathan and daughter Selah.
